AiDIY - Music Is For Everyone Group

I wrote my first lyrics in 1982. The song was originally titled Time Apart, but later changed to I'll Never Let You Go. My girlfriend and I were separated by 700 miles while she was caring for her mom who had been diagnosed with cancer. We were apart for about a year and I was feeling scared. I was afraid I might lose her. Long story short, she's now my wife of 40 years so it worked out and I like to think maybe the song helped cement things...😊 About 10 months ago I was introduced to Suno and it was suggested I plug some of my lyrics into it and see how they sounded. I was hooked. I can play a little guitar, but I'm no musician nor am I a composer. Suno gave my lyrics life. I like to say a song has a body and a soul. The music is the body and the lyric is the soul. It gives the music meaning. I'm now recording my own vocal tracks in a DAW and uploading those into Suno so it's my voice singing my songs. I could never have done this without generative AI. I don't have the bankroll for studio time or to hire musicians to record my lyrics the old fashioned way. I would LOVE to have one of my songs recorded by a band or a singer, but anyone who writes lyrics knows how hard it is to get anyone to notice and how easy it is for people to steal them. All of my songs are filed with the U.S. Copyright Office and I have other measures of protection for my work. You have to, especially if it's good! I have no idea where all of this will lead, but I'm having a blast writing and making music.
