If You’re Feeling Stuck, You’re Not Alone

This week I’m getting honest about something we all go through—creative block. Whether you’re deep into a Suno session or can’t get past the first lyric in Udio, it hits hard when the inspiration just… doesn’t come.

I’ve been there. And I’ve learned it’s not about “trying harder”—it’s about working smarter with what you already have.

Tip 1: Don’t Force It – Schedule Instead

You can’t brute-force inspiration. But you can create space for it to show up.

Try this: Set a short timer (like 15–20 minutes), open Suno or Udio, and just start. It’s not about perfection—it’s about permission to create something.

Once you get going, the ideas will show up. Maybe not right away. But they will.

Tip 2: Use Voice Notes to Catch Sparks

I can’t count how many times I’ve had a killer idea… and lost it before I got home. Now I use voice notes or even quick phone videos to capture a lyric, melody, or vibe the second it hits.

These raw, messy ideas are gold later on. Especially when you’re not “feeling it.”

Tip 3: Stop Asking ChatGPT for Song Ideas

Controversial? Maybe. But relying on AI to give you an idea instead of help you develop one can flatten your creativity.

Instead of asking “What should I write about?”—ask ChatGPT to help shape an idea you already have. That’s where AI shines: expanding, not replacing.

Tip 4: Revisit Old Songs with New Tools

Go dig through your old lyrics. Find that half-finished hook from 2022.

Now drop it into Suno v4 or Udio and give it a new sound, a new feel, a second chance. You’re not starting from scratch—you’re evolving something with experience and fresh tools.

Tip 5: Act on the Idea You Keep Ignoring

That one concept you keep dismissing? That little phrase in your Notes app? Yeah, that’s the one.

Start with it. Don’t overthink. Don’t judge. Just see where it takes you. Nine times out of ten, that “random” idea turns out to be something special.

Final Thoughts: Creative Block Doesn’t Mean You’re Broken

Feeling blocked doesn’t mean you’re lazy, uninspired, or not cut out for music. It means you’re human.

These tips have helped me push through the mental clutter and keep creating—and I hope they help you too.
